Coach Ridz's TV Hosting Debut : INFAQ

Hello again,
Don't forget to watch INFAQ on TV 1, starting February 11th at 6.30 pm.
The news cutting is from Harian Metro. We had Infaq Media Launch in PICC (Putrajaya International Convention Centre) on Jan 17th and this is one of the full coverage written a handsome journalist from HM.
I believe this programme can blow your mind away. (If you are interested to know more about Waqaf, Zakat and Mal of course).
I have learnt so much, Alhamdulillah, throughout the 2 months shooting of Infaq. We went to all states in Peninsular Malaysia.
Countless wonderful things have been accomplished using Waqaf, Zakat and Baitul Mal's fund. For the record, the collection/fund was not even satisfactory but nevertheless showed tremendous increase over the years.
Should more people infaq (give) more, just imagine the benefits that the people can enjoy.

Back with a Babe!

Salam to all. It's been almost 3 months since we last updated our blog. During Ramadhan both of us still conducted post-PMR seminar. Then we took a break for Eid Fitri. November and December (mid-Dec only) we went back to Taiping for our annual Spoken English Cuti Sekolah. Our fifth year! We had a blast with the students in making them become more comfortable to use English.

13.12.07, 3rd Zulhijjah, Coach Sha gave birth to baby Sarah Mohd. Ridzuan, our fourth baby. It was Sha's first time giving birth via Caesarean Section. Now, Sha's in confinement for .... 60 days? to fill her time, she's been reading. Finished Harry Potter's Half-blood Prince (in 5 days), now reading Jane Austen's Mansfield Park.

While Sha's busy with the baby, Coach Ridz has been on the road now and then. FYI, he is a compere (perantara) for a new TV program - INFAQ. Catch him on air sometimes in January perhaps.

Till then,

Ilall liqaa ' ya asdiqaa' (that's the Arabic version of Adios Amigos).

Ole-ole from Muar

On Merdeka Day, the ESB Crew headed south to Muar. Our destination: SM Sains Muar. We met 372 bright and active Form 5 students with two lovely and warm teachers.

The food...umpph...yum..yum...
Morning break: Briyani Gam (Coach Sha finished her big portion, after all she's eating for two.)

Lunch break: Lauk Kenduri, babe - Egg Salad with Peanut Sauce, Ayam Masak Merah, etc. and sweet watermelon juice.

Tea break: A huge pau with chicken filling and potatoes and ... puyuh eggs inside. What a feast! What a feast!

Now we know where to find yummy grub in Muar.

TIPS OF THE DAY Be Like a Little Kid Again!

Maryam Ridzuan (left) and her cousin, Ilham, exploring their artistic talent.

When learning another language, please be prepared to make mistakes. Remember when we were little kids? We couldn't pronounce words correctly. (Pelat...) We also used the wrong word at the wrong time.

For example, Muhammad (6) and Musa (5) thought that merdeka meant 'flag'. They'd say, "Look Abi, the car has merdeka" or "Merdeka can't do anything... they can just terbang-terbang". Then we explained what merdeka is all about - how the country is free from colonization. Ooops! "What's 'colonization' Abi?" That's when other people control our country. Before this.. (and the history lesson started).

So, please... no matter how old we are, when we are learning another language please be willing to be a kid again.

Just let the words out from your month. Get excited to experiment with words.
It's OK to make mistakes. After all, we are still learning.

Watch out for this van...coming to rock the school!

By the way, the ESB crew and their little soldiers travel nationwide in this Toyota Hiace.

TIPS of the DAY:

When you want to say something but your mind is stuck... "how to say it in English huh?"..simplify your first language first.

For example, you want to say "menganiaya" - simplify your BM first - "menganiaya" - buat perkara yang tak elok pada orang lain - then change to simple English - doing bad things to other people. TADAAAA!!!!

You can get your message across now.
